    CNC Vertical Mill operators use computer-controlled machines to fabricate parts from metal or plastic. Produce machined parts by programming, setting up, and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine; maintaining quality and safety standards for custom parts for ACMF customers.

    Summary of essential Job functions

    • Program Vertical Mill by entering instructions, including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches

    • Calculate requirements, including basic math, geometry, and trigonometry; proving part programs

    • Sets-up Vertical Mill by installing and adjusting three- and four-jaw chucks, tools, attachments, collets, bushings, cams, gears, stops, and stock pushers; indicating vices; tramming heads

    Provide accurate pricing, routings and materials from customer supplied blueprints. Work with various departments involved with the manufacturing process of the quoted product. This is a fast paced job and requires a balance of strong technical skills as well as great communication and ability to multitask.

    The Laser Machine Operator position safely performs laser cutting for variety of metals and thicknesses.

     

    Summary of essential Job functions

    Ø  Perform typical laser cutting operations

    Ø  Operate the CNC laser cutting machine

    Ø  Select and set up lenses based on material type and thickness, load programs and set machine parameters to ensure optimal performance of the equipment

    Ø  Knowledge about shield gases used during laser cutting operation

    Ø  Work in a fast paced environment with fast changing priorities

    Ø  Provide a great level of attention to detail and focus on the given task

    Ø  Select proper cutting and welding programs, and proper fixtures

    Ø  Establish proper stop location, adjust laser beam focal point

    Ø  Lift raw materials manually, using hoist or forklift

    Ø  Make proper set-ups for cutting operations

    Ø  Perform all dimensional inspections

    Ø  Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor

    Ø  Perform prescribed maintenance as required

    Ø  Operate and use required tools and equipment skillfully and safely

    Ø  This position is very active and requires lifting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, crouching, crawling and climbing all day

    Qualifications required

    Ø  High School Diploma or equivalent education experience

    Ø  Minimum 1 year manufacturing experience in a Fabrication environment

    Ø  Solid background working with sheet metal

    Ø  Ability to read blueprints

    Ø  Knowledge of tooling and tool maintenance

    Ø  Proven measurement and mathematical fraction/decimal conversion skills

    Ø  Ability to distinguish material types including Aluminum, Steel, Stainless Steel, Copper and Brass

    Ø  Fork lift operation experience

    Ø  Ability to work with minimal supervision, self motivated, able to work as a part of a Team with a positive attitude

    Ø  Safety conscience

    Ø  Must be able to perform physical activities, such as, but not limited to, lifting equipment (up to 50 lbs. unassisted), bending, standing, climbing or walking.
